I was looking for a place to eat in the Seaport area before attending Life & Trust on a Saturday night and found this spot on a blog or list. I was a little nervous about going somewhere without a reservation on a Saturday night, but ended up arriving before 5:00 PM and there were plenty of seats available, though I sat at the bar--mostly because the high-top and regular tables were too warm. But the bar tender ended up being so nice and friendly, and gave great recommendations, that I was glad to have sat there. The bar top itself has cool sea creatures in the resin, which adds to the overall kitschy dive bar theme. I ordered the jalapeño poppers to start, which honestly weren't anything special, but weren't bad either. Probably overpriced for the quality and number (4). In retrospect, I probably should have ordered the jalapeño-shrimp-bacon bites instead. My friend and I ended up splitting the crab and shrimp nachos, which I thought were delicious. There was tons of cheese on them (and real cheese, not cheese sauce), which is what truly makes nachos. They were a huge portion and my friend and I could barely finish them. I had planned to order dessert, since the photos of the peanut butter pie on Yelp looked amazing, but I didn't have room. I thought the nachos were amazing, but my friend from Texas and more critical of the Tex-Mex style, deeming them "fine." To each their own. And, of course, we got margaritas. I loved that you could get them in so many different quantities--glass, pint, quart, or pitcher. We tried the original, unflavored skinny marg and the frozen marg, both of which were delicious. Would definitely recommend. Was a bit surprised that the quart just comes with two straws instead of glasses to pour it in, but oh well. Overall, a very enjoyable experience. However, I will note that for the dive bar vibes, this place is not cheap. If I recall correctly, the jalapeno poppers were like $15, the nachos like $25, the quart of skinny marg like $44, and the pint of frozen marg like $15. For the size of the nachos and being seafood adorned, I didn't think that was bad, and same for the frozen marg, but the other prices seemed pretty high for the ambiance. But I guess that's New York City, for ya! In the end, I would for sure go back.

Fun & delicious. The bright colors of the decorations instantly makes you feel like you walked in the right door. The drinks are fun delicious mixtures, including flavored frozen margaritas. The food hits you well in your belly. Fish tacos, guac, nachos, braised beef, a countless selection of savory options will make you a repeat customer if you weren't already one from the cocktails. Outdoor seating is available and its a few short steps from Seaport. The bartenders provide some good laughs with service. Depending on your order the food tends to come out quickly in-between drinks. No muss, no fuss, pour another round and don't forget the loaded tater tot basket.

I was pleasantly surprised by my first visit here! The initial needing to wait for my whole party to arrive to be seated and lack of AC had me doubtful, but once we were seated staff was very friendly and even accommodating to my request to sit towards the back for cooler air. The moment you step in you see how fun and vibrant the decor is. The drinks match the vibes with fun names, and the one I ordered came with a free plastic shark! Food was very tasty too. Simple plates but they're packed with favor. Particularly loved my taco salad and nachos.

the food was delicious. The french fries were my favorite because of how perfectly crispy on the outside they were. I would go back just to eat the nachos alone. Service was fun! the bar and staff made conversation with us and were nearby to ask us if we needed something. I loved the way the bar made me feel. very comforting. Ambiance was like the chill spot you end up at with your close friends.

Great experience, but it almost wasn't. Jarielle saved the day. I think I know why some of the other reviewers complained about rude service. I came in with a group of friends for a birthday bar crawl. While we waited for the host to prepare our table, we waited toward the back of the restaurant. A male server walked past us on his way to the service bar making "shoo!" motions with both hands. When he got to the bar, he made the intentionally audible, passive-aggressive comment, "These dufuses need to move!" I said we are not dufuses, we are waiting for our table, and all he had to do was say excuse me or ask us if we could please shift over. When we got seated, I let Jarielle know about the situation and she agreed that is not the proper way to treat guests. She sent us a round of tequila shots and all was forgotten. A small blip at the beginning of the night, but overall, everything else was fantastic from there: great-tasting margarita pitchers, a delicious mountain of pulled-pork nachos that took me 2 days to eat, and of course, excellent service from Jarielle. The vibe was relaxed and fun, too. We ate outside and the weather was perfect. Overall, I definitely recommend coming here for large parties, but if your server isn't great, I recommend you switch and stay regardless. :)
